Bathroom Vanities in Lebanon — Made to Measure, 10-Year Guarantee

A bathroom vanity unit is the cabinet that sits under a washbasin, storing towels and toiletries. The cabinet also hides the plumbing. The word covers a family of pieces. The vanity cabinet itself sits beneath the sink and stores larger items, a spare bottle of soap, a stack of towels. Buyers use "bathroom vanity" and "bathroom cabinet" interchangeably, along with "sink cabinet" and "bathroom furniture". Plywood is the other carcass option. Marine and exterior grades are glued with water-resistant phenolic resins so the plies do not delaminate in high humidity. Solid timber has its place too, on drawer fronts and frames, provided the finish seals it on every face.

Wall-hung vanities suit small bathrooms, since the floor stays clear and mops easily, while floor-standing units hold more and need no structural wall. Neither wins outright. A wall-hung unit is fixed to the wall with nothing touching the floor. The gains are visual and practical. The room reads larger because the tiles run uninterrupted beneath the cabinet, and there is no plinth for water to collect against. The cost is a wall that can hold it. A solid block or concrete wall takes the fixings; a plasterboard partition needs a frame behind it, planned before the tiler arrives. Wall-hung units also expose the trap, so the pipework is either boxed inside the cabinet or chosen to be seen.

A floor-standing unit rests on the floor or on legs. It can be deeper and taller, so the drawers hold more, and it hides the plumbing without any wall work. Adjustable feet level an uneven floor. In a family bathroom where storage wins, or in an older building where the wall is uncertain, floor-standing is usually the sensible answer.
